Famy Vice Mayor Freddie Valois was very impressed with the staff members of a drugstore who went out of their way to assist him.
In a Facebook post, Valois thanked the security guard and cashier of the Mercury Drug in Siniloan for providing him with a reusable and recyclable fishnet bag for the items he bought.
He said he was on his way home from cycling when he stopped at the drugstore to get a few things.
But he ended up getting more items than planned. These were placed in a paper bag which he couldn’t carry on his bike, so he asked for a plastic bag.
The guard told him plastic bags are already banned. While Valois was happy about this as it meant that the “no plastic” ordinance is being followed, he was still at a quandary as he didn’t know how he could bring his purchases home.
He spoke about his dilemma and the cashier, Myla, went out of her way to look for a bag for him even if other customers were in line.
He is so grateful for their act of kindness and super and human service, he said.
They’re assets to their company!
“APPRECIATION SHOUTOUT
On my way home from biking, I randomly thought to buy a stuff in Mercury Drug Siniloan. From a single-item purchase, I got hooked on buying 10 bulky items. Naturally, my items were packed in a brown paper bag. Suddenly, I realized that I did not have a carrier in my mountain bike. I politely asked if they had a plastic bag, to which Kuya Guard respectfully said na, ‘Pasencia na po Sir, bawal na po ang plastic, matagal na.’ (As a public servant myself, as a Vice Mayor, who reviews, and crafts ordinances for the General Welfare of the people, I was actually happy that they are following and strictly implementing ‘The No Plastic Ordinance.’ I thought, very good Mercury Drug). Back to my dilemma, I whispered ‘How could I bring my items to Famy?’ The very gracious cashier, who had customers in line, went out of her way to look for a bag. When she came back, she brought me a reusable and recyclable fishnet. I was glad for the bag and for Ate Cashier’s act of kindness, humane and superb service! I thanked Kuya Guard and Ate Cashier for their great service!
Maraming salamat po Kuya Guard and Ate Cashier near the entrance ! (Because of my metacognitive moments, I forgot to look at their name plates) Mercury Drug Siniloan must be very proud of you
PS: When I checked my receipt now, it says Cashier Myla. Thank you po Mam Myla. May God bless you always,” Valois posted.
