Tanauan Mayor Sonny Collantes is now part of a group that seeks to promote closer economic cooperation between the Philippines and South Korea.
Collantes has taken his oath as member of the Philippine-Korean Economic Council (PhilKorEC).
Joining him are Batangas Rep. Ma. Theresa “Maitet” Collantes, investors, and businessmen.
Collantes said his membership in the group would help him forge ties with different industries and agencies, and help him provide job opportunities and social services to the people of Tanauan.
He thanked PhilKorEC chair Robert Laurel Yupangco for welcoming him to the group.
“Sagisag po ito ng ating pagtutulungan hindi lamang sa Rehiyon at Lungsod na aming kinabibilangan, kundi para sa mas masaganang hanapbuhay at mga oportunidad sa sambayanang Pilipino!” he said.
