Batangas Rep. Eric Buhain has thrown his support behind an intensified information campaign on Republic Act 11592 or the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Industry Regulation Act.
At the CALABARZON leg of a nationwide LPG summit, Buhain said the law signed in 2021 will help ensure the safety of the public and raise the competitiveness of stakeholders.
“The law is long. The implementing rules and regulations (IRR) are even longer. [Former] congressman Arnel Ty says the IRR is four times longer than the law. There are many details, so it’s good that you’re here to listen and understand the details of your contribution to the LPG industry,” Buhain said at the summit held in Lipa, Batangas.
“It’s just the right time for RA 11592 to be taught and shared so we can better protect consumers,” he added.
The summit, which was spearheaded by Republic Gas Corporation (Regasco) president Ty, was attended by officials from the Department of Energy (DOE), and Department of Trade and Industry.
