Cavinti Mayor Arrantlee Arroyo inspected the Gulayan sa Paaralan project in the different elementary and secondary schools in the town and praised the benefits that this provides.
Under the project, vegetables are planted in the public schools to provide nutritious food to the students.
This is being done with the help of the Department of Education and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture.
Arroyo was all praises for the project.
Not only does it help keep the students healthy, it also ensures there would be enough food in the community.
“Napakaganda po ng programang ito dahil layunin po nito na mapabuti ang kondisyon ng nutrisyon at mga nakagawiang pagkain ng mga bata sa pagpapadami ng produksyon ng mga lokal na gulay sa pamamagitan ng paghahalaman sa mga paaralan kasunod nito ay makaambag sa food security ng ating pamayanan,” he said.
He congratulated all those who participated in this successful project.
