The Taytay municipal council has approved an ordinance laying down rules on the proper use of the local government’s official social media channels, according to Councilor Tobit Cruz, who led the push for the measure.
Cruz said that under this ordinance, the handler of the official social media accounts would not be able to block users or use the account for politicking.
They also won’t be able to delete posts.
Local government employees would have to follow guidelines on the proper use of these accounts, he said.
Meanwhile, the council has also approved on ordinance recognizing the Sunduan Festival of the town as an important cultural event. The festival is set to make a return in May.
