Personnel of the San Mateo police have received new firearms to help them carry out their duty of maintaining peace and order in the town.
The Philippine National Police, through the Rizal Police Provincial Office, turned over different kinds of long firearms and ammunition to the San Mateo Municipal Police Station.
The firearms consisted of 10 units of BAR Galil ACE 5.56mm, 2 units of BAR Emtan 5.56mm, 84 magazines, and 30,240 rounds of 5.56 ball SS109 ammunition.
San Mateo Omie Rivera and San Matepo PNP officer in charge Lt. Col. Rodolfo Santiago II were also present for the turnover.
The provision of the firearms aims to help maintain peace and order in the town.
Santiago assured residents that the police would use the firearms properly and responsibly.
