Last year, the Vatican approved the petition to elevate the Antipolo Cathedral to an international shrine.
This has been made official through a decree from the Vatican that the province of Rizal recently received, according to Gov. Nina Ynares.
Ynares said that effective March 25, 2023, the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, will be an international shrine.
It will be the first international shrine in the country and in Southeast Asia. It will also be the 11th such shrine in the world.
