Bacoor Rep. Strike Revilla led the launch of the city’s bio-remediation at the Bacoor Eco-Park in order to clear its waterways of pollutants and improve water quality.
The city used microorganisms and Bokashi mudballs to clean up the water sources
“Sa ganitong pamamaraan ay unti unting nalilinis at pinapalinaw ang mga daluyang tubig,” Revilla said.
He said this activity was important as it would clean up the tributaries that lead to Manila Bay.
The bio-remediation would ensure that the tributaries are clean and clear and free of pollutants and toxic materials. The water quality be class C because of this, he added.
Bacoor is the first in Cavite to have a bio-remediation project, which is part of the Manila Bay Rehabilitation program, said Revilla.
It teamed up with the Environmental Management Bureau CALABARZON, in cooperation with Effective Microorganisms Research Philippines, for the project.
