Taytay Mayor Allan de Leon only P48k left in public coffers for 10k senior citizens

Taytay Mayor Allan de Leon said he would need to look for more funds to provide cash gifts to senior citizens as only P48,000 was left for them when he assumed office in June.

De Leon presented a certification from the Office of the Municipal Budget showing the remaining balance for the fund, which is under the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.

De Leon pointed out that there are still 10,000 senior citizens who have yet to receive the cash gift, but only P48,000 was left.

“Nasaan po ang sinasabing pagkarami-raming mabibigyan eh P48K na lang po ang naiwan, P48K divided by 10k na senior???” he said.

He also alluded to people spreading lies about the program.

But he also said that he, with the help of Vice Mayor Pia Cabral, the municipal council, and the concerned departments, would take action to help the elderly residents who have yet to receive their financial assistance.

“Huwag po kayong mag-alala, kayong Mga Team NAUBUSAN at INUBUSAN!

hindi ko po papayagang magiging LUHAAN…Kung ano ang LEGAL na dapat maibigay ay Gagawan din natin ng Legal na Paraan para mga lolo at lola ay mapagbigyan….Amen po!” he said.
