General Luna Mayor Matt Florido welcomed the local government’s latest employee, deaf mute Crisadith Joy Caponpon.
Florido said his administration provides equal opportunity to all, even if they are differently abled.
Caponpon would work as encoder at the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and would be a support staff at the Persons with Disability Section.
She would also have the chance to get a permanent position in the local government, he said.
“Pagdating ng panahon, di magtatagal, kapag ginusto na niya talagang magtrabaho sa ating gobyerno, isang permanent item naman ang ibibigay kay Joy,” he said.
He said Caponpon was able to finish second year college, but had to stop her schooling due to the difficulties she faced.
He and Caponpon met and were able to communicate through writing on her first day in the job, he said.
She told the mayor that she was excited to start working at the municipal hall.
Florido said he was happy to have given Caponpon a job at the local government.
“Napakasaya ng aking puso ngayong araw, dahil ang isang tulad ni Joy ay aming nabigyan ng pagkakataon na maging kabahagi namin sa paglilingkuran sa bayan. WELCOME TO LGU FAMILY, JOY! Saludo kami sa iyo!” he said.
