Cavite City to revive Corregidor Island as a tourism site

The Cavite City government has big plans for Corregidor Island.

Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua said the city is proud of Corregidor Island, which is the second most visited tourist destination in Cavite province.

Unfortunately, the island has not been utilized to its full potential, as it had been neglected and the city had not been involved in its development, said Chua.

But this would now change.

Chua has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Corregidor Foundation Inc. for the city government’s involvement in the development of the island.

He plans to preserve the relics in the island and to fix its facilities in order to attract more tourists, he said.

“Excited na kaming makita niyo ang ganda ng Corregidor Island at naniniwala po ako na unti-unti ay makikilala na ang ating lungsod at maibabalik na muli sa pagiging 1st class ang ating ekonomiya,” he added.
