Antipolo discusses LRT-2 extension project, sees great benefits for the city

The Antipolo City government supports the plant to extend the LRT Line 2 to Cogeo and said this would be very beneficial to the city.

City government officials held a consultation meeting with the Department of Transportation, Light Rail Transit Authority, D.M. Consunji, sectoral experts and consultants, and officials of the barangays to be affected by the project.

In a Facebook post, Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares said the LRT-2 East Extension, coupled with the LRT-2 West Extension Project that would add three more stations after Recto going to Pier 4, would make it easier for Antipolo residents to visiy key districts in Manila.

It would also make it easier for Metro Manila residents to visit the sights in Antipolo, he said.

“Mapapadali na ang pag punta sa Divisoria, U-Belt, at iba pang key districts sa Maynila mula Antipolo, maging ang pagpunta ng mga pilgrims at turista sa ating lungsod at lalawigan ay giginhawa rin,” he said.

This would also mean easier access to Antipolo’s products and services, he added.

“Mas mapapaigting at mapapalakas ang koneksyon ng Antipolo sa ating mga kababayan,” he said.
