Quezon Rep. Mike Tan wants a medical school in every region

Sep 23, 2022 @ 8:58

Quezon Rep. Mike Tan wants the country to have a medical school in every region to ensure that there would be enough health care workers for its needs.

Tan said he was worried about the depletion of the Philippines’ health work force, which has led to the deterioration of health care in parts of the country.

He took note of reports that 100 private hospitals had closed down due to a lack of health professionals.

This was why he has filed a bill seeking to establish at least one medical school in every region of the country.

He said he would push for the approval of this measure because he values the lives and health of Filipinos.
