Batangas Gov. Dodo Mandanas joins the President’s SG visit, pursues projects for the province
Batangas Gov. Dodo Mandanas was able to pursue projects for the province when he joined President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s two-day state visit to Singapore.
Mandanas was able to meet with Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual and representatives of YCH Group and discuss plans to put up the Smart Logistics City and Batangas Access Zone, according to the Batangas public information office.
The provincial government earlier signed a memorandum of understanding with the DTI and YCH Group for the development of a smart city in Batangas.
The project is expected to improve interconnectivity between the Philippines and Southeast Asian nations.
Pascual also promised to support the development of Batangas Bay.
Mandanas and other Batangas officials also visited the YCH Supply Chain City in Singapore to check out its state-of-the-art facility that uses artificial intelligence, robotics, and an advanced cold chain system.
The governor hopes to put up a similar facility in Batangas to boost economic development and recovery from the pandemic.
He was also able to meet with Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco to discuss the province’s tourism recovery, development, at promotion initiatives.
