San Pedro Mayor Art Mercado lauds food business for promoting San Pedro identity
Where else can you get sampaguita-flavored empanadas but San Pedro?
San Pedro Mayor Art Mercado was impressed by a local business that serves good food that also promotes San Pedro’s identity.
In a Facebook post, Mercado said he got to try the best local empanadas at the home of Chef Jen and the Gerodias family, who run the food business Casa Luisa.
He said their food promotes San Pedro’s identity, with one example being their sampaguita-flavored empanadas.
The concept makes him happy because it would boost food tourism in the city, which has a lot of good eats to offer.
He hopes there would be more businesses like these in San Pedro, he added.
He promised to try more of Casa Luisa’s food in the future.
He’s a true blue supporter of local eats!
“The best homemade empanadas! Maraming salamat Chef Jen at Gerodias family for inviting us over for dinner.
Babalik ulit kami ni Mika for sure.
Mercado posted.
