Biñan Mayor Arman Dimaguila lauds constituent for chess prowess
Biñan Mayor Arman Dimaguila feels proud that one of his constituents is helping put the Philippines on the map when it comes to chess.
Dimaguila recently met with Grandmaster John Paul Gomez, who hails from Biñan.
Gomez is part of the Philippine Chess Team that improved the country’s ranking in chess from 52nd to 32nd during the 44th World Chess Olympiad sa Chennai, India, Dimaguila said on Facebook.
And it was Gomez who led the Philippine team in getting the highest score, he said.
He congratulated Gomez and said Biñan is very proud of him.
Biñan has a grandmaster!
“Congratulations Grandmaster John Paul Gomez, isang Biñanense na mula sa Brgy. Tubigan!
Dimaguila posted.
