Laguna Rep. Ann Matibag named vice chair of Committee on Women and Gender Equality
Laguna Rep. Ann Matibag is grateful to be named vice chair of the Committee on Women and Gender Equality despite being a neophyte lawmaker.
Matibag said she likes her new appointment because it is important for her to address the concerns of women and of the LGBT community.
She would do more to help these sectors, she added.
She thanked Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for trusting her with the role even if she is a first-term lawmaker.
Maraming salamat po sa tiwala, Speaker!” she said.
Matibag also said she sought membership in the Committees on the Welfare of Children, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Diplomacy, Natural Resources, Trade and Industry, Aquaculture and Fisheries Resources and Appropriations so that she could help more sectors.
