Laguna BM Karla Adajar calls for stop to e-sabong
Laguna Board Member Karla Adajar is willing to sponsor an ordinance that would stop the return of e-sabong, which has a lot of ill effects on society.
Former President Rodrigo Duterte had put a stop to these activities in the second quarter of the year, and Adajar hopes that this form of online gambling would no longer return.
She said e-sabong had caused people to be addicted to gambling and had given rise to crimes.
Even if its operations generated revenue for the government that could be used to fund social services, she said their ill effect could not be ignored.
She said the effects of e-sabong on the community should continue to be studied, but her position is it should no longer be allowed to return.
