Cavinti to make a replica of the largest sambalilo hat for its 8th Sambalilo Festival
Cavinti will seek to revive a once thriving source of livelihood in the town by remaking the largest sambalilo hat that it built in 2016
Cavinti was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2016 for making the largest sambalilo hat in the world.
For its 8th Sambalilo Festival in August, it would make a replica of this hat, according to Mayor Arrantlee Arroyo.
He said the Cavinti Women Weavers Association started the weaving of the hat, and it would be completed by residents of different barangays.
The final product would be displayed at the roof of the Cavinti Basketball court during the Sambalilo Festival, he said.
