Infanta slaughterhouse workers get training on hygienic practices

The Infanta local government has sponsored a training session on good hygienic practices for slaughterhouse workers in the town to ensure the safety of meat for consumption.
Infanta Mayor Filipina Grace America ordered the holding of the training sessions, which were arranged by the Municipal Slaughterhouse Section.
“Nakatakdang talakayin sa training na ito ang mahahalagang usapin kagaya ng meat hygiene, meat inspection, ante mortem, post mortem, slaughtering procedures at consumer protection,” the Infanta local government said.
The training sessions also aim to provide additional information to butchers and slaughterhouse workers about the regulations in the Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines and Consumer Protection Act.
The resource speakers were Senior Meat Control Officer Dr. Ma. Theresa Magdaraog from the Department of Agriculture – National Meat Inspection Service, Assistant Provincial Veterinarian Adelberto Abrocio, and Leandro Julian Nuñez from the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian.
