Tagkawayan Mayor Carlo Eleazar scraps sports fest to purchase public safety materials

Tagkawayan Mayor Carlo Eleazar has prioritized the safety of students returning to school over games.
Eleazar said that together with the local school board, he decided to scrap the hosting of a palarong pambayan this year so that the funds for the event could be used for students instead.
Eleazar said he used the funds for the games to purchase items to ensure students’ safety when they return for face to face classes.
Tagkawayan has already received its purchase of 150 pieces of thermal scanners with alcohol dispensers and 9,000 face masks for adults and kids, he said.
It is also set to receive 500 pieces of hand soap and hand washing facilities that would be placed in all schools in the town, he said.
