Hindi sayang! Incoming Los Baños Mayor Ton Genuino says people aren’t a disappointment because of their sexual orientation
Incoming Los Baños Mayor Ton Genuino is joining the celebration of Pride Month, and he has issued a timely reminder to the public to underscore the value of the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
In a Facebook post, Genuino said it has been a common comment in the country to say “sayang” or express disappointment when a person is found to be gay lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.
But it is wrong to think this of anyone just because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, said Genuino.
They are just being true to themselves and this is commendable, he said.
He called for compassion and said Los Baños would remain a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
