General Mariano Alvarez records first rabies death this year

General Mariano Alvarez Mayor Maricel Torres has renewed her warning to residents to protect themselves after the municipality recorded the first death of a person from rabies this year.
In a Facebook post, Torres said the victim was a child and died this month.
She called on dog and cat owners to make sure their pets are vaccinated against rabies.
The local government has been conducting an anti-rabies vaccination drive, she said.
