Antipolo City personnel catch 6-foot, 5 kg python behind hospital building
Personnel of the Antipolo City Veterinary Office Animal Control Team recently caught a six-foot, 5 kilogram reticulated python behind the Annex 3 Cabading Hospital in Barangay San Jose.
But Antipolo Mayor Andrea Ynares was quick to give assurance that reticulated pythons are non-venomous despite their size, which could be as long as 16 feet.
“Tulad ng maraming wild animals, karaniwang lumalabas lamang sila sa kanilang lungga dahil nasira ang kanilang tahanan o kaya ay naghahanap sila ng makakain,” Ynares said on Faceook.
Still, she advised city residents not to handle reticulated pythons that they may encounter.
She said they should instead get in touch with the City Veterinary Office hotline at ( 8 ) 689 – 4514, or visit its office at the San Jose National High School.
