Cuenca Mayor Faye Endaya Barretto begins saying goodbye to workers after losing reelection bid
Cuenca Mayor Faye Endaya Barretto was not reelected for another term, and she has started bidding goodbye to the people she had worked with in the local government.
But Barretto, who lost to Alex Magpantay, also said they have not seen the last of her yet.
In a Facebook post, Barretto said she has begun saying farewell to the workers and thanking them for all their help.
It was an emotional moment for them, she said.
But they might see each other again, she added.
In another post, she said her loss was not the end of the world.
They will meet again in 2025, she said.
“Day 1 of 52 days left before June 30, 2022 ends. I have started going in in the different offices in the municipal hall to express my gratitude to the municipal employees with their respective department heads, who helped me with my good governance. Tears were flowing from my eyes and their eyes, too. Short but sweet farewell. Till we meet again.
