Apr 28, 2022 @ 12:25

Pet owners in Los Baños can have their dogs and cats spayed or neutered for free courtesy of the local government.

The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, in cooperation with the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association and UP Venerable Knight Veterinarians Fraternity, will be offering the free service on May 26.

It will be held at the activity area of the municipal hall in Barangay Timugan.

Pre-registration is required for the first 200 dogs and cats, and each household could only register two pets.

Those who are interested to sign up could call (049) 531-7849 or visit the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist.

To qualify, the pets must not be younger than six months.

For pets who had given birth, two months must have passed before they could be operated on.

The municipal agriculturist also recommends that the pets be subjected to a blood test a week before the operation.

The pets must also be in good health, it said.

During the event, cats must be in a carrier while dogs must be on a leash, and owners must bring poop bags as well, it added.
