Antipolo mourns death of former DECS Secretary and Antipolo Institute of Technology president
Antipolo City feels a big loss with the death of Dr. Erlinda Canlas Pefianco, president of the Antipolo Institute of Technology who had once served as Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.
Pefianco passed away on April 18.
In a Facebook post, Antipolo Mayor Andrea Ynares condoled with Pefianco’s loved ones on her passing.
Ynares also paid tribute to her friend Pefianco and the latter’s contribution to education, especially in the city.
“Nagpapasalamat kami dahil sa dami ng mga bansang nagbigay-parangal sa’yo, napili mong maglingkod sa Antipolo,” she said,
Pefianco also inspired a lot of students with her work, she said.
“Marami kang na-touch na buhay sa pagiging guro mo, at marami kang na-inspire na sumunod sa mga yapak mo. Your shoes will be tough to fill, but we will try, Doktora. Ika mo nga, fly high!” she said.
