Los Baños approves tricycle fare increase

The Los Baños government has approved tricycle drivers and operators’ request for a fare hike in the face of successive oil price hikes.
The local government said Mayor Tony Kalaw approved the decision after hosting a public consultation.
Kalaw also thanked the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Josephine Sumangil Evangelista for approving the ordinance.
The new minimum fare set by Ordinance No. 2022-2297 is P14.
“Base sa pag-aaral ng [Transportation Regulation Unit], ito ang pinakapatas na halaga para sa ating mga namamasada at namamasaheng mamamayan,” the local government said.
The TRU was also tasked to monitor the implementation of the new fare matrix to ensure that it is being followed.
