Trece Martires trains barangay officers on handling gender-based violence
For women’s month, the local government of Trece Martires is making sure that barangay officials know how to handle cases of violence against them.
Mayor Gemma Lubigan said barangay officers assigned to the violence against women desk underwent training on how to handle gender-based violence cases.
Issues concerning the abuse of women and children were tackled.
The officers were also taught how to act as first responders to these cases in their communities.
Lubigan thanked the Philippine Commission on Women for leading the session.
“Maraming salamat sa Philippine Commission on Women, kay PCW Chairman Sandy Montano at sa ating Gender and Development Council sa pangunguna ng ating GAD Focal Person na si Ms. Lariza Vey Cabaya,” she said on Facebook.
