Los Baños distributes aid to tricycle drivers

Tricycle drivers are among those badly affected by rising oil prices, and the local government of Los Baños has come to their aid.
Mayor Antonio Kalaw led the distribution of P500 to the tricycle drivers and operators under the Tulong at Lingap sa Kapasada program.
A total of 1,853 tricycle drivers and operators who are franchise holders would benefit from the program.
“Sinabi ni Mayor Kalaw na ang financial assistance na ito na ipinagkaloob ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Los Baños ay tulong sa ating mga TODA dahil nais niyang makapagbigay ng mabilis na aksiyon sa negatibong epekto ng pagtaas ng petrolyo dito sa ating bansa,” the Los Baños government said on Facebook.
Kalaw said all residents of Los Baños contribute to its growth, which is why the local government was ready to help them.
He also advised the tricycle drivers to look for additional sources of livelihood so that they would have alternative means of earning a living during emergencies.
