Batangas booster shot rate still low
Even though Batangas province has fully vaccinated more than 1.8 million residents, its booster dose administration needs improvement.
The Batangas public information office said 73.15 percent of its target population had received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
However, only 12.2 percent had received a booster shot, it said.
“Sa talaan ng Provincial Health Office (PHO), nasa 309,660 na mga indibidwal pa lamang ang bumalik para sa booster shot sa kabuuang bilang na 1,863,188 ng fully-vaccinated,” it said in a Facebook post.
Batangas is under alert level 2 for the first half of the month, and Department of the Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Abigail Andres called on local governments to ensure enforcement of health protocols, including the wearing of face masks.
There have been reported violations of these measures, according to the Batangas PIO.
