Angono LGU honors its heroes who fought the Japanese

To celebrate the 77th year of its freedom from the Japanese, the local government of Angono honored its local heroes who fought during the occupation.
Angono Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon led a program to honor the veterans, whose family members attended the event.
“Muling dinakila ng lokal ng pamahaan ang tapang ng ating mga kababayang sumuong sa labanan upang makamit ang ating kalayaan,” the municipality of Angono said in its Facebook page.
Among those it remembered was Salome Calderon, who raised the Philippine flag 77 years ago to symbolize Angono’s freedom from foreign forces.
The event occurred in a place that is now in front of the Angono Elementary School.
This year, Mayor Calderon joined the police in raising the Philippine flag in the historic area.
