Alfonso to host OWWA on wheels

Vital services for overseas Filipino workers and their families will be brought closer to Alfonso next month.
Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat said he met with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Calabarzon branch to discuss the launching of the OWWA Calabarzon on Wheels program.
It would be held at the town plaza on March 11.
The program will offer an orientation on OWWA membership and other programs, and would entertain inquiries about education assistance for college students who are children of OFWs, welfare assistance for repatriated OFWs, and medical, burial and livelihood assistance.
There would likewise be a special livelihood project for OFWs.
Salamat said also to be discussed during the program is the establishment of an official OFW group in Alfonso that could also be given a grant to open its own business.
“Inaanyayahan po dito ang mga Alfonseñong OFW na umuwi o natapos ang kontrata ng wala pang higit tatlong taon o mula 2019 hanggang sa kasalukuyan. O ang may mga kamag anak na OFW na may mga katanungan sa OWWA,” he said.
Those who are interested should bring their passport and copy of their former contract, he said.
