University of Rizal to get its own College of Medicine

Feb 18, 2022 @ 11:05

Aspiring doctors in Rizal could now study in their own province for their degree.

Former Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares said the Board of Regents of the University of Rizal System, where he sits as representative of Sen. Joel Villanueva, approved the proposal to put up a College of Medicine.

It would be the first in Rizal, said Ynares.

“Dahil walang kolehiyo o unibersidad, public or private, sa buong Rizal na nag-aalok ng nasabing kurso, bilang isang doctor, tiyak ko, pati ni Senator Joel Villanueva, na ito ay higit na makatutulong sa mga kapwa nating Rizalenyo na nais na maging doctor o medical practitioner balang araw,” he said on Facebook.

He also said the new college would produce more health experts for the country, which is very much needed amid the pandemic.

“Sa malawak na hospital programs natin sa Rizal, maging dito sa Antipolo, sigurado akong mainam na madadagdagan tayo ng mga doctors na handang magbigay ng kanilang serbisyo para sa kapakanan at kagalingan ng mga Antipolenyo at Rizalenyo,” he said.
