No tarps on public property, Real Mayor Bing Diestro Aquino reminds candidates

With the campaign period set to begin officially, Real Mayor Bing Diestro Aquino issued a timely reminder to all candidates and commercial business owners.
Aquino said tarpaulins for political purposes or commercial purposes should not be posted on municipal public properties such as covered courts, lamp posts, perimeter wall, waiting sheds, and all other municipal public buildings / infrastructure.
These could only be posed with the permission of the local government, she said.
“All local candidate or team tarpaulins and other commercial tarpaulins that were posted or installed in municipal public properties without permit, shall be removed,” she said.
She also reminded them that they could not post tarpaulins on trees either.
This is prohibited by the rules of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, she said.
