Angono installs trash traps to keep rivers clean
The Angono local government is intent on keeping its rivers clean.
Angono is pursuing is Zero Basura Program, and one of its projects to keep the waterways garbage free is the installation of “trash traps.”
In a Facebook post, the Angono Public Information Office showed photos of how the trash trap works.
It said the trash trap collects the garbage floating in the river so that it would not cause clogs that would lead to flooding.
“Ito ay bilang paghahanda na rin sa mga ulan at bagyong darating ngayon taon,” the Angono PIO said.
The trapped trash are collected by teams known as the “Busilak River Rangers,” it said.
But it reminded residents that it would be better if there is no trash to collect from the waterways.
“Paalala ni Mayor Jeri Mae na huwag magtapon ng basura sa ating ilog. Panatiliing malinis ang inyong lugar at maging responsable sa pagtatapon ng basura,” it said.
