Gulay pa more! Cabuyao Mayor Mel Gecolea buys his veggies from the city’s farm

Jan 6, 2022 @ 9:11

Cabuyao Mayor Mel Gecolea is eating healthy this new year, and he got his fill of veggies from the farm run by the City Agriculture Office.

In a Facebook post, Gecolea shared that he bought okra, tomatoes, and ampalaya, which are his favorite.

He also posed for a photo with the farmers who grew the produce at Farm 1.

According to him, the Farm 1 is a program being implemented by the City Agriculture Office.

It uses different agricultural technologies such as crop production, aquaponics, rabbit and cattle farming, azolla production, and a waste-to-fertilizer facility.

The vegetables grown in the farm are sold in the city, and the farm workers have also put up their own cooperative to handle their earnings.

Gecolea said the vegetables produced by the farm are healthy and delicious.

He invited the public to buy their greens from this place as well.

It has tomatoes, eggplant, okra, ampalaya, sili labuyo, bell pepper, papaya, squash, cucumber, cassava, lemograss, sigarilyas, corn, lettuce, and herbs.

Take your pick!
