Antipolo City government looks for cornea donor for 14 year old
The Antipolo City government is hoping to give a 14 year old girl the gift of sight.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Andrea Ynares shared that Madel Porras, one of six children, became blind in 2019 after her cornea was damaged.
The local government had Porras checked by experts and she was diagnosed with Lipid Keratopathy.
Ynares said the city government would send Porras’ clinical abstract and case study to the Eye Bank in Manila so that it could look for a cornea donor for her.
If one is found, Porras would be operated on so that she could regain her eyesight, she said.
She called for prayers for Porras.
“Nawa’y isama natin si Madel sa ating araw-araw na panalangin hanggang tuluyan na siyang makakita,” the mayor said on Facebook.
