Antipolo City Veterinary Office checks for bird flu

Dec 24, 2021 @ 12:14

It’s not just the COVID-19 pandemic that is occupying Antipolo City’s time.

The City Veterinary Office has been conducting surveillance on bird flu to ensure that poultry and egg products would be safe for consumption, according to Mayor Andrea Ynares.

Ynares said veterinary officials regularly get blood and cloacal samples from poultry birds, which are checked in the laboratories for the disease.

This is on top of the city’s programs against rabies and African swine flu, she said..
