Imus Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi wants to encourage kids to become readers, and to pique their interest, he invited them to join a contest to dress and act like their favorite book character.

In a Facebook post, Maliksi urged them to join the Virtual Book Character Costume Competition: Dressing Up and Acting Out contest held by the Imus City Public Library and Local Council for the Protection of Children.

The activity is being held in celebration of Children’s Month and Library and Information Services Month.

Prizes range from P1,000 to P5,000.

Maliksi said readers are leaders, so it would be good for children to make it a habit to read books.

Now they could make it more fun by dressing and acting like their favorite book characters and joining the contest.

Bring your book to life!
