Fish be with us! Tagkawayan Mayor Carlo Eleazar says fish catch improving due to town programs
Tagkawayan is reaping the rewards of its program to go after illegal fishing, and Mayor Carlo Eleazar is pleased about it.
In a Facebook post, Eleazar said he and the police, its maritime group, and the Bantay Dagat group met recently to discuss the improving fish catch of the town’s fisherfolk.
He said this was the effect of the town’s programs to go after illegal fishing, which caused damage to the marine environment in the past.
The officials also discussed ways to continue their programs to protect the waters of Tagkawayan.
This would ensure an abundance of resource for fisherfolk and secure their livelihood, he added.
Thanks to this program, there’s more seafood to enjoy in Tagkawayan!
#OKsaTK,” Eleazar posted.
