Mayor Joric Gacula happy to have her mentor, former VM Adelina Reyes, vaccinated vs COVID
Taytay Mayor Joric Gacula expressed happiness that her rival-turned-mentor, former Vice Mayor Adelina Tamayo Reyes, is now vaccinated against COVID-19.
In a Facebook post, Gacula shared he personally escorted the former Vice Mayor at the vaccination site in SM Taytay.
“She is like a mother to me, and we’ve had our petty differences before pero sa politics lang yun. She is a family friend and a mentor,” the mayor said.
Reyes defeated Gacula in the Vice Mayoralty race in 1998. But they joined forces in 2004 when Gacula first became mayor of Taytay.
“Since then I have not lost my admiration for her and she really fights for her ideals. Whether we are in unison or in different sides of the fence, I will always hold her in high respect and pray that she will be given the gift of good health,” the Politiko said.
He added: “Mahal namin sya sa aming pamilya.”
