Distressed OFWs in Cabuyao receive livelihood training

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Cabuyao who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic undergo livelihood training to help them establish their own small business.

According to Mayor Mel Gecolea, the OFWs were taught how to make siomai and siopao during the training made possible in cooperation with the Cabuyao OFW Cooperation and Blas F. Ople Policy Center.

“Naniniwala po ang inyong lingkod na sa pamamagitan ng programang ito ay matutulungan ang ating mga kababayang distressed OFW na bumangon at kumita ng pera sa pamamagitan ng pagsisimula ng negosyo o hanapbuhay gamit ang kanilang mga natutunan sa livelihood training,” the mayor said.

The OFWs likewise received “starter kits” compose of equipment and ingredients to start their small business.
