Imus mayor Emmanuel Maliksi received on Tuesday his COVID-19 vaccine shots in a bid to increase public confidence in the government’s vaccination program among his constituents.
In an Instagram post, the Politiko said he received the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine in accordance with the Priority Group A which include healthcare workers, senior citizens, frontline personnel in essential sectors, and individuals with comorbidity.
“Nais nating alisin ang anumang agam-agam at takot sa ating mga kababayan, at hikayatin ang bawat isa sa ating kampanya sa pagpapabakuna laban sa Covid-19,” the mayor said.
Maliksi said that over 4,000 individuals in his city have so far been inoculated against the viral illness.
“Ngayong tayo ay nahaharap sa record-high COVID-19 cases halos kada araw, mas higit nating paigtingin ang ating pag-iingat at proteksyon. Magtulungan tayo mga Imuseño at sama-sama tayong bumangon sa krisis na ito.”
