Stay away from the water, Alitagtag Mayor Edilberto Ponggos tells his constituents
People may want a dip in the water because of the heat, but Alitagtag Mayor Edilberto Ponggos is asking his constituents to stay away from it while Taal Volcano is acting up.
In a Facebook post, Ponggos said any activity in the waters around town is prohibited because of the rise in the alert level over Taal Volcano and the threat of its eruption.
The prohibition is temporary, and he appealed to the residents of Alitagtag to cooperate.
The local government just wants to ensure their safety, he added.
Better safe than sorry!
Cruz..,” Ponggos posted.
