She is spartan! Quezon Rep. Helen Tan blames dirty politics for demolition job
Quezon Rep. Helen Tan was saddened and her surprised about being linked to corruption, and blamed a demolition job launched by her opponents.
Tan also challenged the the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission to visit the road project in the alleged corruption case instead of just relying on anonymous complaints.
In a Facebook, Tan said she was surprised to know that the President announced that she was being probed for corruption for an anomalous project, which involved a road badly damaged during a storm.
She quickly explained her role, saying she had pushed for the feasibility study for the Gumaca By pass so that the project could be funded.
When a portion of the road was damaged, she asked the Department of Public Works and Highways for an explanation.
She wondered why she was being blamed for this when the DPWH was the implementing agency and not her office.
Tan also lamented that an anonymous letter to the PACC was used to shame her and to try to destroy her name.
The PACC should not report such matters to the President without validating it, she said.
She challenged PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica to visit the project for himself and not just rely on anonymous tipsters.
She said she and her husband had been the target of a smear job by their political opponents.
But she vowed that they would be undeterred, as they are God-fearing persons and would not do anything to ruin their name.
She is confident that the report will be corrected and will lift everything to the Lord, she said.
She ended her post with her new hashtag: #iamSparTAN!
Helen Tan – anomalous national road project in Quezon Province, a newly-constructed road that has not been open for public use was already broken at the onset of storm. It looks like beyond repair.” His basis is the report given by PACC.
Acts of nature.
Now I challenge the PACC Chair Mr. Greco Belgica to come to Gumaca and visit the project, if they are serious on their campaign against corruption.
I am comfident on that.
So I will lift everything to God.
