The Ynareses of Antipolo hit two birds with one stone during their recent relief drive for typhoon victims.

This was because they bought the relief goods they distributed from local sari-sari stores.

In a Facebook post, former Mayor Jun Ynares said this had the effect of supporting local businesses while also allowing them to help the residents affected by the floods.

His children and nieces held a fundraising upon seeing the effects of the typhoon, and were able to collect P400,000 through their efforts.

They invited him to go shopping for coffee, rice, canned goods, and other essentials.

He thought they would go to a supermarket, but instead, they hit one sari-sari store after another.

They also bought face masks and face shields from the public market, as well as pairs of shorts from a local clothes maker.

It didn’t matter that buying from smaller stores was a bit more expensive.

What’s important is they were able to help small enterprises while assisting typhoon victims!
