Quezon Rep. Helen Tan brings flu and pneumonia vaccine to the market of her childhood
Quezon Rep. Helen Tan is making sure that the vendors at Lucena’s public market are protected from flu and pneumonia by providing them with vaccines.
The market holds a special place in her heart because that was where she grew up, Tan said on Facebook.
She said she was 12 years old when she started selling at the market with her sister so that she could study high school.
Her sister is her inspiration, she said. Her sister continued selling at the market even after graduating from college and was able to send her four children to school, she shared.
Tan said it was important to care for the vendors at the market given the hard work they do, and is only too happy to go back to her roots and help them.
It is her time to give back!
2am in the morning nasa palengke na sila hanggang gabi.
#STAN,” Tan posted.
