Iwas COVID-19! Antipolo enforces barangay coding in wet markets
Residents of Antipolo City will have to schedule their trips to wet markets depending on where they live.
Antipolo Mayor Andeng Ynares recently announced that a barangay coding system will be implemented in wet markets in the city to minimize the risk of shoppers and vendors catching COVID-19.
In a Facebook post, Ynares said the implementation of a barangay coding system will ensure minimum health standards such as wearing face masks and physical distancing are observed.
Ynares, however, said the “sitio coding scheme” remains in effect for wet markets in Barangay Cupang.
“Lifted po ang Barangay Coding tuwing Sunday. Mag dasal tayo na sumunod ang lahat sa pagsusuot ng mask at sa physical distancing,” she added.
Ynares said only wet markets are covered by the barangay coding system, except if a business establishment enforces their own coding system.
The schedule of barangay coding for wet markets are as follows:
Monday & Thursday
• Sta. Cruz
• San Roque
• San Luis
Tuesday & Friday
• Bagong Nayon
• San Isidro
• Beverly Hills
Wednesday & Saturday
• dela Paz
• San Juan
• San Jose
