Bawal happy happy! Curfew, liquor ban still in effect in Cavite despite GCQ status
Curfew will remain in place and the sale of alcoholic beverages is still banned even if Cavite is under the more relaxed general community quarantine (GCQ).
The provincial council on Friday, May 15, passed two ordinances extending the implementation of curfew and liquor ban amid the threat of COVID-19.
Under provincial ordinance 277-2020, a curfew will be imposed over the entire Cavite from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Meanwhile, provincial ordinance 278-2020 bans both the sale and consumption of liquor and other alcoholic beverages.
The provincial council said the liquor ban was extended so social distancing can be observed as drinking alcohol is usually done in groups.
The passage of the two ordinances was shared by Vice Governor Jolo Revilla on his Facebook page.
